JAYS Bolster Coaching Staff

As the JAYS organization continues to grow, so does our Coaching Staff.

The JAYS strive to continue adding the best and most knowledgable Coaches who are passionate about developing our JAYS players, and pushing them to achieve Greatness.

Since the beginning of the Summer, the JAYS have added Former Division 1 Coach Waskyla Cullivan, Austin Coble, Sam May, Bradley Cuyos, Raul Martinez, Chris Hansen and Kris Lutz to the Coaching Staff.

Our 2 most recent additions to the JAYS Coaching Staff include Jared Alvarez-Lopez, a Cy Ranch graduate who was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 17th Round of the 2019 Draft, as a Catcher and First Baseman.

The latest addition is current Houston Astros Minor League Pitcher, Angel Macuare. Angel, from Venezuela, was picked up by the Astros in the International Draft and just finished the 2023 season in AAA with our hometown Sugarland Space Cowboys, after his promotion from AA.

Both Jared and Angel will now be giving lessons at One Percent Academy. Jared will be focusing on Hitting, Catching, and Fielding lessons, while Angel will be providing only Pitching Lessons. Jared and Angel will also be seen bouncing from team to team to help Coach on practice nights at One Percent Academy.

Lesson Bookings for all of our JAYS instructors can be found on the JAYS website (www.opajaysbaseball.com) by clicking the "Book Online" tab. Each instructors availability is shown on their lesson calendar. All lessons are paid in person via Cash, Venmo or Zelle.
